lol sorry don't understand - where is the radio? :$

edit: thinking more it would be more sensible and easier for me to just to get a in-dash monitor. Put it in the free dash space , however I am finding it hard locating websites selling these , and I have tried searching

update in-dash touchscreen monitors ( motorized ) seem to cost a bomb
. If I was to just get a non touchscreen monitor how would I be able to control the computer

    Thanks

search around, people use all sorts of stuff, from little keypads to gyration wireless keyboards mice, and remotes. Search around, whatevers most comfortable for you/and or fits in your ride
personaly im going to be using a touchpad from a laptop modded into my armrest, with my lilliput.

Ok here's what you do. relocate the head unit, to say the glove compartment, make an extension from the HU to the removeable part and place that under all the controls. then put the monitor where the headunit was and that big space you now have.

BTW that's what i am doing with my pioneer headunit. The HU is now in the glove.

VW golf and Jetta dash look the same. For your oem headunit you can buy a blitzsafe adapter to put in the audio. If not then you can just wire it in directly. If you don't know how to do that then maybe you need to read up a little more. Screen can fit in that 2 din space but it involves taking out the side strips and molding the screen in completely. You can do an indash screen as I have done but that's entirely up to you.

Actually it looks like you have an aftermarket HU so just find a line input for that. And you also seem to have the base model GL golf without heated seats so that's a 2000/1 golf? buy an indash housing and convert a lilliput/xenarc into the housing. You can try to relocate the HU to the glovebox but I'll tell you right now it won't fit.

old picture but you get the idea
    Mine needs to be updated.

I wouldn't have the skill or equipment to buy the housing and do the convertion. I wouldn't mind buying a in-dash touchscreen with the convertion done but in UK pounds it would be about 250 + Shipping which is quite alot :S . And I haven't seen anything cheaper

You could look at a dashmount from www.dashmount.co.uk to mount it somewhere else - but not motorised, then upgrade to motorised later when you have the skill/money

But just to say you are better off starting with a VGA touchscreen else you'll waste more time and money messing around with stuff you don't actually want.
