Thread: Power limits of a 4-guage wire?

Hello all!

I have a 4 guage wire running from my car battery terminal to my trunk that currently powers my 200watt amp.

My question is: Can I use the same 4 guage wire to also power an opus 150? or maybe even a second 100w amp?

I brought this question to my local car stereo dealer and he said "yes it will work". I have my doubts though. I thought I would run it by you guys also, the second opinion never hurts.

I would like to wire my carputer and amps all to the trunk if possible. I will run a second power wire to the trunk if necessary. Let me know what you think!
