Post a pic of ur dash and it would be a lil easier to help ya out
i have a 2004 dodge neon r/t. i wanna put a carputer in it but i have no idea where i could mount the LCD. any ideas, please let me know.
i also need to know, if i use a carpc with a headunit that has audio inputs, will the audio inputs be split into 4 channels or just the 2 channels?

How about here? This is where I put mine. I don't have a pic of it cleaned up yet. Another guy with an SRT4 did the same thing.
that's the same color mine is heh. anyways, where are you putting your head unit at? and how much cutting/molding did you have to do to get that in. i'd prefer to keep any cutting to a minimum or none at all, its something i don't wanna **** up and i don't trust myself that well yet.
I'm relocating my HU to just below that. I'm building another enclosure that covers the two cup holders and goes up to just below the radio bezel. Here's a pic of the beginning of it. Those are a couple of day old. Now there's a front to it and I have the right side glassed too. The left (passenger side) is going to have a removable wall so I can just remove one side if I ever need to get to the wires w/out having remove the whole console.
I didn't have to do a lot of cutting. You know that little piece that divides where the HU is and the little cubby? I cut that and about an inch on either side. I put my screen shroud in and used foam to hold it in place. Then bondo'd the rest.
looks nice, i wish i had more experience with this and with fiberglass. but i have none, and i just don't trust myself with cutting heh. are you using the stock neon hu? does it have audio input on it?
This is my first time messing with fiberglass too. The radio bezel was my first ever fiberglass project. First ever project like this as a matter of fact. What I did was buy a second radio bezel in case I messed up. You can check the for sale boards of www.neons.org if you don't already post there. I picked mine up locally for like 20 bucks.
As for cutting. I never hacked up any of my previous cars before either. In fact I never owned any tools either. But since I started this I've bought quite a few. Plus it gave me a reason to buy a dremel! You gotta start someplace. Just read the tutorials posted around here for fiberglassing. It's all I did and so far it's turned out pretty decent.
i think i figured out where i can put it. i have the stock stereo which came with a 6disc changer in the lower din above the cup holders... i was thinking of utilizing the indash housing that you can pick up on www.digitalww.com and removing the 6-disc changer, the only problem is that i won't have a cdplayer. so i was gonna see if i can trade hu at the dodge dealer and just get the single disc one
if that would work it'd solve all my problems haha
oh yeah...if i want put the monitor where i want to put it, i'll have to get a short throw shifter that way the shifter isn't in the way of the lcd. and i'll have better access of the lcd. this also means i won't have to cut the dash and it'll continue to look as much as factory as possible, which i like.
