I found some info on using VNC as a "remote desktop" to control the pc. I'll play around w/ this software and give updates.
If anyone has any better ideas, let me know.

I searched around and found a few dead threads on this issue, but was wondering if anyone had made any progress on using a Windows CE device (Compaq Aero) to control a car pc? If not possible, is their some way I could interface the color touchscreen to a pc?
I'm in the process of building, but I don't want to spend if I don't have to. Im cheap that way![]()
Thanks for any help you can offer,

I'm still playing with the Palm VNC on a Palm m130 using also softick ppp, scrolling can be challenging but is posible to control the cpu with a pda.
I have a issue because my network is a LAN and everytime I disconnect the crossover cable my cpu lost its IP address, wich is assigned by the computer with access to internet, if someone know how to work around this little problem? let me know.
I'm thinking buying a pda with bluetooth capability and with bigger screen resolution like palm tungsten.
Back before touchscreens were used for carputers I had one setup with a Palm Pilot Pro controlling Winamp. There was a plugin that let you use the Palm to do that.
89 Mustang (Autox, road race, and cruiser)
93 Escort (Daily Driver)
84 Dolphin RV (Soon to be Carputer Heaven)
I'm controlling winamp over bluetooth with my palm.
I'm using a winamp plugin that allows you to control winamp over a web page.(WAWI).
I'm using a bluetooth USB dongle and my palm has bluetooth built in,
It works pretty good, although its not in the car yet.
I was think of buying a touch screen, but I can afford it right now, and I had a palm lying around so....
but i would like to have a pocket pc and a progam like this:
http://www.rudeo.com/
or
http://www.smashcasi.com/
Seems like it would be faster, my palm is kinda slow for loading and formatting all those HTML pages.
I'm very interested in doing this, let me know if any of those apps work,
