General Info

Hey All,

I love the idea of a carputer, and have been looking for a way to upgrade my truck for a while. Looks like I found it! I originally wanted to do a laptop and docking station, but figured it would become a pain with the on-off, so I have decided to just make one like everyone else has. I had some basic questions on equipment. I am not looking for highend, but middle grade equipment right now. I want to have the MP3, DVD, CD, GPS capabilities.

Does anyone have any reccomendations on adequate equipment? I have looked at almost all of the threads here, so I have learned a lot, but just wanted reccomendations from people who have setup their systems.

Well firstly of i just wont to let you know start using

, because the same question that you just have asked has been answered about 3 times a day and people get the ****s.

What equipment?

Motherboard- VIA EPIA M10000 has 1Ghz inbuild cpu and that goes for Processor, Soundcard, Videocard

Touchscreen-LILLIPU or if you got money to spend XENARC

DVD/CD player- Up to you what you wont to do .

GPS unit- hmm i guess any GPS will do the job up to you

Map software- Well not sure on this one it depends where you live.

Power supply- OPUS 150w

Soundcard- External USB Audigy2 NS
videocard- Onboard
Touchscreen- Xenarc is you you have the $$ - Lilliput works well too!
DVD/CD player- - Panasonic CD-RW/DVD
GPS unit- Delou, works well
Map software- Routis works well
software- XP pro or home install and mediacar or frodoplayer
Power supply- OPUS or OPUS or OPUS.

thanks for the info guys, I have been looking around and have picked out some of the peices so far.

Some more questions- does anyone have or make an advanced sound card. Something with multiple outs on it and an eq to control each out individually. I was thinking of doing something in the boat also, but wanted to get rid of a couple of things(head unit, extrnal EQ) and have everything run off the signal from the sound card.
