    Noobie's PC and other questions

    Ok,

So I have this PIII 500 kicking around full ATX and 256 memory (could bump it to 500MB), SB Live sound card, NVidia T4200 or Voodoo 3000 card and 3.5 ATA 100 40 GB hard drive. I am going to hold off on the PSU until the Opus 220 comes out.

1.Is it worth hooking this up until I can save for the VIA SP to come out?

    2. Can I even do it? I want to run DVD's, DVIX, GPS, Play MP3's and that OBCII thingy. Or is my system to weak? or needs more power than the Opus could put out?

And I need a 4 channel Amp right?

Just ordered a Lilliput touch screen as well.

    Thanks!

    1. Yes.

I'm using a PIII 600/100Mhz bus, 320MB and everything is butter smooth. MP3, DVD, DivX, Visualizations, etc. All while I constantly run live GPS and Network Stumbler in the background.

    2. Yes.

Here's what I'm running on the Opus 150:

    Full sized ATX Intel Mobo.
    600Mhz PIII / 100 Mhz FSB
    3.5" 7200 RPM HDD
    5.25" DVD-ROM
    Slimline DVD/CD-R Drive
    Powered IDE -> USB converter
    2 On-board USB ports (full)
3 PCI USB 2.0 PCI Card (full)
1 Turtle Beach Santa Cruz PCI Sound Card (full)
4 Port USB 2.0 Hub (powered) (full)
2 Case Fans. (not including the one on the opus)

    I'm probably leaving something out.

    The opus can handle it.
