I want to be able to do the GPS navi, while listening to the radio/CD player at the same time.
Would the best route be to go headunit and PC?
Also... is it possible to get song title and or station display on the LCD from the headunit (ie the pioneer decks do it). I'm guessing it'll depend on whether or not my headunit will play 2 sources at once huh.
I've pretty much got a basis as to what else i need to start my project after a few hours of searching stuff. I'm sure i'll have more technical questions during the build.
thanks.

Car PC Status: Complete - Undergoing Software Redevelopment
Well... I'd like to keep the costs at a minimum.
I'd prolly want to stick with a headunit to preserve sound quality (unless i spend $$ on a good sound card).
Do any of the interfaces out there allow you to run/view GPS navigation while listening to an MP3 or radio?
Take a look in the Software section. There is some good software over there. Most of them are still in development so they may have a few problems. Don't let that discourage you. Test them all and see what you like. I, personally, will be using MMC when it's done (they're just in the Alpha stages right now). My second choice (which is more complete) will be FrodoPlayer. Best of all they are free (donations welcome).Originally Posted by ummagawd

Derek.... thanks for the info.... yea i've been reading up on those 2 particular software interfaces...
couldn't really come to a conclusion if any could do what i want. In fact I'm not even sure if what i want it to do will be determined by hardware configuration or software (or both).
Anybody have comments regarding the modded xbox as a carPC?
