I have a carputer built
audigy 2 zs
32mb vid card
now i read all these threads on powering it up with the car, and how if you start the car it will reboot, so you need some special type of power supply like the opus. i have a normal 400watt psu, but you guys say that wont do, i was looking at the opus, and i dont see how i should hook that up to the car battery, and i have searched all over the forums, and the circuitry is a bit too much, can anyone help a newbie, thanks a lot guys, if you have aim/aol, IM me at "ECA Andrew" thanks.
thanks, im familiar with a car amp, how would i hook up a car amp and the opus to the battery, can you do both, thanks for the help.
Do the opus just like the AMP. Its the same process just do it twice. One for the AMP one for the CarPC. 3 wires each hot, ground, switched.

Basically this is what I did.
Run one big wire (2GA or 4GA) from the battery to the back of the car (where the amp and Carputer will be) and put it at the distribution block. From the block one wire to the amp and another to the Opus. GROUND for amp and Opus doesn't have to be at the same spot unless they close to each other. Otherwise, make it as short as possible and preferable bigger wire than the power wire.
which PSU do you recommend for a P4 2.8 desktop for my car? I heard opus makes good ones but will the 150 opus do? And do i need an inverter also?
to be more specific... i have a dell dimension 4600 and i was thinking i should go with the 150w opus DC/DC. Is this sufficient enough? do i need anything else to power it? does the opus 150w sold on this site come with all the wires and etc.. i need to hook it up to my car?
Hey you're on MP3car? This is really crazy because I know you and this is like an international site. Msg me on AIM at Gr4yscale, I'll give you some info. You WERE hosting heshers site i think, right?
