    1st post!

    Hey guys... been searching ur site for a while and decided to stop only a guest... my name is mike and i drive a 2000 VW jetta vr6 (WOOP WOOP)

    anyhow, i got a few questions... i prob didnt search good enough and they r somewhere, dont flame me! but i got a sony headunit with AUX inputs and i want to put a car-puter in car now (obviously)... my question is can i use both headunit and monitor at same time? and if i put headunit in glove box does that mean everytime i use winamp on computer i need to press to AUX source? .... eh i guess its not that bad, cuz ill b on comp 90% of time... hehe.... but just a question!

    yah, you can use your HU w/ Ur carPC. the carPC's sound card will run to your HU's AUX inputs. Yes, you'll have to press AUX whenever you want to use it. I've never heard of a HU in a glove box ? I would bet that there's a way you could manipulate Ur dash so that they could both fit. Or you could do a remote install. (install the faceplate somewhere else). Just a thought

    1) if you mean listen to radio with head unit and use comp for... wordpad for instance then the answer is yes. if for some strange screwed up reason you want to listen to both at the same time (comp music, and HU cd player) then no, and your crazy.

    2) yes, everytime you want sound to play from your comp on your car speakers your HU must be on AUX

    as mentioned above 1 min of searching will solve hours worth of problems.

    damn u guys have some VERY quick responses... lol, well now i got more things too look into =)

    im not sure if i can relocated it too well.. im gonna take some measurements and stuff tommorw

    There was a post somewhere where the faceplate was remote, I will dig for it.
    Remote faceplate! turned out really nice, check it out
