A) Any AM/FM tuner you run through your laptop is going to play through the audio hardware in that compute r(laptop or otherwise). What else are you going to play it through? Now, if you want it to pipe through your car stereo (logical assumption, since that's the focus of these forums), then there are multiple methods for accomplishing that.

B) There are XM solutions that can go through your laptop, yes. Do some searching here, as well as XM-related websites for those solutions. But again, you're looking at the audio going through your computer's audio hardware. See 'A' above.
