    Red face newbie help

I have a 1990 toyota corolla with a broken tape deck and I want to be able to hook up my mp3 player (not ipod) and listen to it. I know nothing about car stereos and have no idea how to even start. Can spend around $100 or less. Please help!

Get a new head unit with AUX inputs and a headphone -> RCA adapter.
    Here's one from Crutchfield.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Or a wired FM transmitter I use one from audiovox in the suburban. I spent around $50 and installed it myself.

being that it's a tape deck I'm going to assume that you still have the rest of the factory system....if so then FM modulation will be ok, if you had a system in your ride I would suggest against FM modulation as the sound quality isn't very good....

    just my $.02 worth

Lots of people say that, The unit I have needs a sound meter to tell the differance between the CD in the deck and a CD on the wired FM Modulator.

(I know others will say it is not true but that is my experiance not my opinion)

a cd via Aux input is not a CD via FM modulation...those are two different things completely...

a lot of people also say that 320 IS cd quality....when I can listen to 320 then listen to the CD and hear things on the CD that you never would hear on the MP3....nothing can beat the CD its self.....that is if you have a system that will allow you to hear the differences in the first place....lol
