is it a cheap soundcard?
I get a Hiss through my whole system as soon the soundcard reads to the amplifier. The hiss does not decrease or increase in reaction to changing grounds or trying to ground the PC chassis. Adjusting the treble and or the bass has minimal effect as well. If I mute the system volume on my PC it shuts off, but will turn back on when I turn the volume up a notch. So obviously I has to do with the sound or power currents somewhere. It never gets louder or softer at all. It is the exact same sound as if I turned on my home theatre system and cranked the volume with nothing playing, just backround static. What else could cause this?
