Probably about half as powerful as the one you got.
I have your normal size computer and power supply, and harddrive in my car. Check out the finished projects section, the Acura RL. I want to change over to the mini computer for obvious reasons, size, and because I can still get my money back for some things, and easier to mount and cool. My thing is I don't want to get one of these miniature computers and they turn out to be slow. I am running XP with a 1.4 AMD processor, and the V2MDMP(not right) mobo, and it boots in 9 seconds. I don't want to change to something that takes forever to load like the old school computers.
Does anyone have any comparisons, or run one of the M10000's and have comments on their speed and performance?
thank alot,
K

My next generation Front End is right on schedule.
It will be done sometime in the next generation.

I stand behind what I have said before, it *feels* like a 600mhz Celeron. In the same way that an AMD does more per clock than an Intel, the Via does much less. Its a nice board for someone limited in room, or money, but if you can fit a full size in there and support it, go for the full size. I like mine, but compared to my full size I wont even use it to check my email.

The m10k that I have I could hosntly if I had to use it as my only computer. It will play mame games at close to the same speed as my 2100+ xp (at 2.1ghz with 333 fsb). Of corse it is a lot slower with heavy cpu things such as rendering with 3ds max and of corse games to play to well with the onboard video but in genaral I realy like it.
m10k is a quick for 90% of what i use it for as my 2.2GHz celeron laptop. Honestly 1GHz processor for a car MP3 player it's overkill.
I was also looking at getting one of the mini-itx boards but it seems like the M1000 uses simm ram which is dated. Some of their other boards are using dual channel ram which might wake things up a bit. What do you guys think? Will the epia V board at 1ghz be noticably faster than the epia M board with simm ram?
I don't know where you seen an M10000 with simms, because they don'tOriginally Posted by Osiris

Man, Im going to do it. I was just looking at the power supplys, and the Mini-Itx which provides shut down is the same price as my inverter, and my shut down controller was $50 more. Damn I should have done more research. Everything I bought for the car I have sold, all of it except for the TV/FM card because it works with Frodo(yes Frodo)player. But I had this computer sitting around, and I like free stuff, but I guess Ill sell that on ebay with all the free software I have. Anyone got a board to sell?
thanks for the help,
