    Is this for me???

This is my current setup in my 2004 Civic Si...
    Alpine CDA-9833
    Alpine SPR-176A Components (Front)
    Alpine SPS-170A Coax Speakers (Rear)
    Alpine SWR-1241D Subwoofer (x2)
    Alpine MRV-F540
    Alpine MRD-M501 (x2)

Now Im the type of person that likes clean sound music with clean bass... I mostly listen to rap, and want to put the MP3s and also DVDs in my car... Is building a carputer for me???

...unless you can think of another way to have MP3's and DVD's.

Joking aside though, the sound you can get using a sound card an MP3, and an amp is noticably better than a CD produces.

This depends on several factors, the largest in my opinion is the sample rate the MP3 was encoded at. 100% variable bit rate that above statement is sort of true.

Lower than 128 it is not at all true. ( I think CDs are at 128 I am sure someone here will correct me if not)

An mp3 file made from a CD will never sound better than the original CD. Mp3s throw away information (lossy) in order to reduce file size.
