I need a carputer!!!

Ok heres the deal I have been wanting to put a computer in my truck but dont have alot of mula heres my limit 800$ for everything me and my friend will be installing. So if anybody could help me build a system that would be great I will be running a 4 channel amp and a mono for my sub off the pc. I also want a touchscreen but based on the measurements my dash opening is 8" diagnally and 7" across from left to right. What size of monitor would be good for me 8" or 7"? This computer will be used for viewing DVD's and other video formats, listening to Mp3's, XM radio, FM and occasionally GPS. Thanks in advance this website is alot of help.

a 7 " monitor will not fit in you dash then. The xenarc 7" is like 7 3/4" Wide left to right.

You may be able to trim the dash and make a custom cover so it will look nice.

Im looking at the Lilliput 7" does anybody have any experience with this monitor? Also what sound card will work for a 4 channel amp and a sub amp? I was looking at the Sound Blaster Audigy ZS 2 it looks like a nice card please let me know.

Lilliput is crap, depending on who you ask. They like to stop working for no reason, or never work in the first place, or have the menu in Korean.

Nah wouldn't touch em. Xenarc or LinITX style.

Bulldog , if you have spent anytime on theis forum at all you would notice that people have a lot of trouble with lilliputs. try searching on 'Lilliput problem'.

Previously, it's because bgoodman likes to screw with me.

And I have to agree with you about the Liliput quality. People either love them and have zero problems or have nothing but headaches.

Someone told me that the screens are taken out of old slot machines.
Anyone know the truth to that?
