my case is made out of mdf and it works great! :-D
Well, after some contemplation I've decided to not use the Shuttle and stat from scratch. After all the extras I was buying, seemed I was paying around £300 ($550?) for a motherboard and some RAM. Which is bloody stupid![]()
Sooo, a shopping list

LAN and WAP/GPRS I can't get my head around yet - some more reading for me perhaps
For a case, I was wanting a clear perspex window for part of the display in the boot (trunk, for you lot). Are proper cases necessary, as long as adequite connections and cooling are provided?

You may also need to add a Morex PSU for that board I think. At least for home testing. LinITX do them, but I went for a Travla C134 which had this built in already.
The Carnetix that I use connects into the power slot on the Morex which then connects to the Mobo.
I went for a Travla C134 case on my build. The C134 is ok if you have the M10000, but you will need to consider the C137 if you upgrade to the M12000 mobo. This is because the 12000 has a CF and PCMCIA reader built in
I like the idea of the perspex, but you might want to read up on static issues on this board. It put me off using it and it also scratches easy, and is expensive.
There are some pictures on this and the talk audio site showing my install.

Why can't I use the Opus 150? I can pick up an old 240v PSU from a computer fair or something easily enough. It's only for testing, so it doesn't have to be great

That site has the VIA EPIA M10000 for £83.00 ($160.78). No saving from buying it on this site unless they don't support your £'s.
If I order all the kit from the US I can save myself £1 (approx $2) and wait a lot longer to get it![]()
