yeah I should have taken pics I'll take them asap, although you'll see a gapping hole where the flipout 7" VGA screen will be.

to some of the people concerned about the dual CC in the dash- if it also has the in-dash CD changer then it is nothing like the single CC controls (that has a temp setting and a fan setting) or dual CC controls without a CD changer (which does not use the OSD of the radio?)

The dual CC has a temperature setting that integrates into the stock CD changer head unit and displays the temperature settings on the stock unit's screen- so I can set the driver side for 65 degrees and the passenger can set the dial to 72 degrees. Hell- it is even possible that the dual CC controls are integrated into the radio head unit- but I have not taken it apart myself.

There is no stop/start point on these dials- you keep turning it left, the display will indicate 'lo' under 60 degrees- you keep turning it right, the display will indicate 'hi' over something like 88 degrees- so without the display, you really have no indicator of if the setting is on high or lo or somewhere in-between.

i found this out when the backlight in my head unit died (an issue with some 03 accords)- i could not see where the temp was so I had to keep screwing with it until it got hot/cold enough... you could somewhat see the numers in direct sunlight, but at night it was black. luckily I got the 5 yr/100k warranty so it was a free swap \...

the dual climate control seemed pretty cool when I was first lookign at the car as I like cold-*** temperatures (usually on 65 in the summer- 70 in the winter) and my passengers usually do not. in retrospect, it is a pain-in-the-*** for trying to get a LCD display installed as neither upper or lower locations are optimal for a motorized display: I do not know of a pre-fab upper cd changer+dual climate control panel and a lower pre-fab install will hit/block the radio buttons and A/C contols or the shift handle).

I will proably either hack the lower 'pocket' and install a fixed 7" LCD or learn about the fun of fiberglass and fabricate something so I can keep the pocket in case i want to go back to stock when I sell the unit.

I think someone makes a 2 DIN motorized LCD- I need to find some more info one that- does anyone have one installed?

Something like this is what I will probably end up doing: http://www.kuo.freakstylehosting.com/car.html

I would like something like this, but you can see how the screen is in the way: http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/690811/4

This is the upper panel for a dual climate control system (which looks like ***) but without the in-dash CD changer: http://www.autotoys.com/x/catalog/HO...AL_p_5065.html

...and this is the lower kit: http://www.autotoys.com/x/catalog/HO...WER_p_694.html

Hey, my friend came back into town and I snapped some pictures per your requests. The gapping hole is for a 7" flipout VGA touchscreen that he has not purchased yet. so I guess for now, it could be considered a "theft deterent"

You will notice the last picture is a shot of the aftermarket temperature dial/gauge thing. We thought it would be important to take a picture of this as there is a downside to this upper console conversion kit. You'll notice that the outer knob does not have a lit indicator that tells you where on the temperature markings the outer dial is actually pointing to. This isn't a problem during the day, it's a bit of an inconvenience during the night.

He also says that the hottest hot and the coldest cold are not equal (less) than the stock setup. Similarly, he says the AC does not quite blow as hard (heh).

All in all he's still happy, considering we were able to do all of this in a matter of 2 hours and it still looks really stock. The night shots are because he's super proud of his tokyo-by-night effects

    Trunk Mount

Don't know if anyone still reads this thread, but I want to mount my PC in the trunk of my 06 accord. I'd love to mount it like a cd changer; hanging down from the celing of the trunk, but between the speakers and those two bars, these seems kinda tough. Any ideas??

    thanks

Anyone know if the SNHOND3 will work with the stock unit in a 2003 honda. The one with the single cd/am/fm with no changer or navi.

Because it has the CD/AUX button, but im not sure if it will still allow me to use the single cd player and the aux

    Yes

Yes, it will work. The CD/Aux button allows you to cycle through the two inputs. That's how I've got mine set up now.
