2003, 2004, and 2005 Honda Accord Owners: This is our refuge.
Congratulations! By utilizing thefunction of this website, you have made it to a refuge for newer-model Accord owners. The flamers (with good reason), whom you may have encountered already, would be proud.
With the calamitous dash-orientation that we 2003, 2004, and 2005 Honda Accord buyers have been afflicted, I thought it would be helpful for our CarPC aspirations to have a thread dedicated to questions, answers, problems, successes, links, and as many pictures as possible related to the installation of CarPC's in the aforementioned Accords.
Here are some links to start:

those upper dash mount kits look aweful. just my personal opinion..
lower mount kits would be better IMHO if you could retain the OEM door over that area. that would keep it out of prying eyes.
98exl and I are going to ~try~ and crack the "can't remove the HU" problem. factory electrical manuals are coming.... If we can't crack it, we'll probably just extend the wires long enough to hide the OEM HU somewhere out of the dash, or strip the HU apart down to just the board, and chuck the mechanicals.

I think that OEM DVD player shell from the navi is perfect hiding spot for a mini-itx mobo.....and it will continue with the stealth OEM install theme. Hopefully more work will continue on the screen tonight....so much sanding to do. Maybe more sanding, and a primer coat will be put on tonight

My 04 Accord Picture Thread
looks like im posting in the right threadI have a 2003 Accord, and I really want to start putting in a carputer, but i have little understanding and alot of questions behind the wiring of the 03 accord. From what I've gathered, I need a 12v+(unswitched) connection from the battery, an ignition(switched) connection, and a ground. right? Are these wires provided, and are they visible once i rip out the storage tray (under the radio) or the ignition harness? Or do I need to buy reels of 10 or 12 guage wire and wire everything myself? Could I wire everything from the 12v adapter next to the coin holder, or should i wire from the source (battery/ignition)?
These are the basics of what id be installing
Xenarc 700TSV, M10000, M1-ATX,
Would I need a ground loop isolator if i wanted to connect the audio to the Aux connection using a SNHOND3?
Would I power the monitor the same way as the M1-ATX (battery/ign/ground)? Do I need a power regulator, and/or an ITPS? or are these integrated into the M1-ATX? If i need wire, relays, fuses, etc, or a kit for all this, can anyone kindly provide links to the right products, and/or wiring diagrams.
if anyone can help me with these questions, I'd really appreciate it.
books i will be getting soon, Car PC Hacks and Build Your Own Car PC
Thanks again
