HP Carputer's.. Anyone had this problem before?

Hi, I have one of them HP Carputer's or whatever their official name is (E-PC?). When I had it set up in my office, it turned on and everything worked perfectly. But then, when I put it in my car, with the shutdown controller and everything hooked up to it, itll take like 5 minutes to get past the HP Invent screen. What is going on!! I checked the bios, and changed a couple things around, but what else can I do!! Help!!!

    1) The E-PC isn't designed as a carputer.
    2) "One of them"? Surely you jest.
    3) Sounds like a power issue.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Yeah, but I bought a whole new inverter and it still does the same thing when I plug it into the wall. it can't be a power issue!! Ahh this is driving me crazy!

Have you removed anything from the pc, parts wise? Is the power supply getting good input, and putting out a good constant source of power.I took a Compaq Evo small type pc and integrated it into the car. I use a power invertor though.

I added a stick of ram which I'm thinking about taking out right now. Nothing has been removed and it is getting good power.. It's on and the SDC says it's fine. The one thing its doing is that right when it starts, I guess, it searches for a keyboard and mouse, which I don't need since its Touchscreen, and about 7 minutes after the HP Invent screen, it says 2 errors: There is no keyboard or mouse installed, etc. I tried using the Hibernate method, but it still sticks at the HP Invent screen. Hmmm..

Remove the ram. Some computers are very picky. Bet ya that fixes it.

Brand name computer usually very picky on RAM.
Another thing you should do is turn OFF mouse and keyboard error report thinggy that some mobo has and enable USB keyboard support in bios.
After doing those, get an extension cord and plug to the wall to see how it boot.
If it still slow, plug a mouse and keyboard in to see what happen. If it boot much faster with keyboard and mouse plug, you found your problem.

I just had a pc where I stuck in another stick of ram and went to format it....it took a full HOUR to format. Removed a stick and it was back to a few minutes. Try the ram first.

Maybe your CMOS got reset. Turn on fast POST, it wont check the RAM, which takes forever.
