    Question

    Oh screw it,

    Would it sound good anyway?

Better than my clarion head unit?

One guy told me today that the carputer won't sound good at all compared to a head unit.

doc what type of vehicle are you putting it in? also try to sell your clarion on here. the resolution on the clarion is between 400 k to 500k pixels. the vga resolution is almost 1.15 million pixels. the only flipout headunit with that kind of resolution is the alpine d901. its a hell of alot money too. i think you should get you a 7 inch or 8 inch touchscreen and computer and you can store thousands and thousands of mp3 files. youll never need a cd in your car again!!! just get a regular headunit with aux input and hide it somewhere in the car that you can access easily.i got my pioneer for under 100 bucks. it sounds real good. hook up the pc to the aux input and ur ready to go. do some more searching and youll see!

thats just my opinion tho. i watched the video link you have. you can use it on your clarion try using a program like media engine. if you need a composite out i have a video scan converter VGA TO RCA N SVIDEO for sale if your interested. if you dont want to get rid of your clarion. but go with vga my opinion...but you CAN do it without a vga monitor!

    Question

I haven't installed the clarion yet but I was going to... hmmm..

oh yeah, I have a 2000 acura tl.

So what you are saying about the video is that the milkdrop visualization won't look good on my 336,900 pixel touchscreen?

but I can make it work with a vga to rca adapter?

you need to search, and dont be such a 'arse'. These forums are for people that work hard at there hobby and share information freely with other people who also contribute. They are not for leeches. There is not one question that you have asked here that can not be answered by searching. If you find a relevant thread and it does not answer your question then postin that thread. Otherwise those of us that do search get 500 threads for the same question. If you dont like it, oh well.

doc yes. the visualizations will be fine and look good. but do not expect to be able to read regular size text. omg youll sit for hours trying to see it! i couldnt. when i upgraded to vga it was soo much clear! but if you wanna stick with the clarion yes you can use a vga to rca scan converter which i told you i have sitting here since i am not using my clarion anymore. u interested in it? pm me or email me.

And I know I'm going to get flamed like a mother-****** for this one.
That's OK. I'm regarded as a righteous old prick 'round here anyway.

Yes, you can use a VGA -> RCA composite adapter with your headunit. In general, the display is not going to be as crisp as with a VGA screen. You may be able to use a front-end like Centrafuse or FrodoPlayer and see your visualizations just fine.
In general, things will look blurry and text will be hard to read.

Again, all this information is here for you to utlize. It's not my fault that you're a lazy-*** and don't want to take the time to filter out the information to your specific question.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
