Anyhow, I loved my dakota really awesome truck... SO POWER FULL! !!! I pulled a chevy avalanche and Chevy Suberbon out of the snow and a deep ditch. The drivers didn't think my truck could do it... (ha!)

The only reason I got rid of it was because the gas milage was truely aweful, 13 mi. per gallon (it improved to 14-15 mi per gallon when I added a K&N filter)

I traded it in while it was still worth something for an 04' Tacoma X cab (my dakota was 02' sport, single cab)

Yea it is kinda junk on the gas, for some reason I get around 15-17 depending on where I'm driving. I do a lot of highway driving so it's no too bad (go back to Maine every weekend).

WPI is definitely tough with the nerd scene, it gets pretty bad. But you can't go wrong with going to a state school for undergrad and then going to someplace like WPI for graduate. I would definitely recommend it, if you can stand being in Worcester. I just get inland-phobic when I'm away from the ocean for too long (surf/beach bum right here ).

Do you have any pics of the Dak before you got rid of it? I had actually looked at the Tacoma's by my mommadukes has a Durango, same Chasis, setup and everything so it's easier to diagnose problems (BALL JOINTS!! GRR).

It also didn't have the cd player in it because I had different plans for the screen. So I am in the process of modifying it for the cd player. Its already finished as far as fiberglass and bondo. Yea that sounds awesome. I would love to see pics once you get it all setup. I'm probably going to make a Blog once I actually start getting work done on it, need to order the computer and what not first and get that running then start adding mods (I have a few projects (surf shop) ahead of this one so hopefully soon I'll get on it ).

I'll definitely check ebay. I just started the idea for this project yesterday so this weekend I'm going to head to the junkyards and see what I can scrounge for dashes, I didn't see anything on ebay when I looked but I check daily :P.

I am currently doing my dakota also. I am putting the pc and a small amp in the center console and a xenarc in the dash(no HU).

Interesting. I haven't looked in the '04 Daks but I'm assuming they are same as the '00 Daks (body style changed in 2005 right?). Also which model do you have? Because I have the Quad so there is that stupid 3rd seat in the middle so I don't have a center console . Are you going to mod your dash and install that way or are you going to just mount it on the outside with something like this:

I used the indash screen in my f-350, infact the setup listed in my signature is all in the f-350. The dakota is getting: MII10000, Xenarc 7", Orinoco with single 7.4db ant., XMD with toslink mod., panasonic slotload, all powerd by opus. All audio feeds digitaly(using the MB digital out) to the phoenix gold 5.1 amp. I put in a sub box made by mtx that replaces the tool tray under the backseat(it is a club cab). For the screen I am going to try using a headrest shroud molded or bolted to the dash that the screen can snap into.

Interesting setup, I like the ideas. I have the Quad Cab and the back seat doesn't really leave much room to install subs into. I had thought about putting them in the floor facing up with some plexiglass over the top but that just seems like too much work with too high or a risk of destroying my floor.

Do you have any pics of your dak truckputer? I'd like to see how you have everything laid out. Also do you have a link to that amp you're talking about? I've been trying to find a good one to use. Thanks.

I have decided If some one makes a bolt on product that does exactly what I want it, it is worth it. I have found it saves time and ussually cost the same as if I do it my self. So i whent with the mtx enclosure.

I am still fitting components in to the console and I have not started on the dash other than remove the HU, but the speakers and wiring are in. I take pictures on the final fit and finish

double check that youv'e got enough depth in your dash for the 10"+ long C134.

Thanks man that's awesome! I didn't even know they made forms to go behind the rear seats. I'll definitely have to look into that when I get some more cash. That amp looks a little out of my price range but I'll definitely see. Thanks!

What's C134? And yea I need to pull out my HU and see how much length I have especially if I"m going to get that new motorized lcd (if and when it comes out in feb.).
