    Audio conenction question

I have a Hercules Game Theater XP sound card... I was hoping to be able to use this in my setup. It has outputs for standard home components (coax)... are there tutorials, or kits that I can use to connect this to my stock sound system?

    Thanks!

If your stock sound system has AUK inputs.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

    Sorry, I wasn't very clear...
My card has standard RCA outputs (plugs that take these )
For me to use my car's sound system, I would have to use one of these harneses the one for my car doesn't actually look exactly like that, but you get the idea. I was wondering if there was a simple way to convert the raw wire ends of the harness into RCA plugs without having to rewire every tip.

I am guessing I will be going the manual way.

No, what you need to do is take another look on the back of your head unit and see if you have sockets for the RCA's. If you don't then none of the wires on your harness are going to do the job, and you need to find another way in (aux adapter or modulator)

You won't be able to wire direct to your car audio speakers, unless that ISO style connector goes to an amplifier independant of your current head unit. The common way would be to go from RCA > ICE amp > speakers.

Another thing is if it's a factory head unit, see if you can get an AUX IN adapter (from www.connects2.com) you need to remember the RCA out on the sound card will not be amplified (or not enough to drive you car speakers!!!)

long way back... BUT the sound card has an amp in it... I do not plan on having a head piece in, but want to run all of the stereo through my box. I am 90% sure at this point that it will work.

I think he wants to get rid of his head unit. That harness is probably going to the stock amp.

I too am planning on removing the audio deck in my car. The tape player in it has been dead for quite some time as well as it is a low end stock model. I think his question is, on the connector that plugs into the deck, is there a way to connect that straight to the audio out of the computer? (Id also like to know the answer). If not, then is a amp needed?

More information, please! I can't tell what you're trying to do from your posts.

    1. Are you trying to wire the computer sound card directly to your speakers? If so, are you asking whether there are cables sold that fit your car's wiring harness?

    2. Are you trying to run the audio INTO your current stock radio?

    3. Are you trying to run the audio into your amplifier, if you have one?

Since you didn't specify a) what car you have b) what radio setup you have c) exactly what you are trying to do; we're guessing here.

Take another shot at it and I'm sure you'll get a useful answer.

i think what he wants to do is wire it straight to his speakers/amp and get rid of the Hu altogether. what WE need is to know whether or not your car has a seperate amp or not. provide more info about the HU.
