    Extending wiring

My case has an LCD that shows system info. I would like to be able to mount this up front but would need to extend the wires. Attached is a picture of the wires that would need extending. The red/black-black/yellow one is for power. The green/white's are the temp sensors for the HDD, CPU, and system temp monitoring.
Can I just splice these and add more wire to make them longer? Will it mess up the temp sensor wires if I do this? Is there a place to buy longer ones that will work?
    Thanks all for the help.

Just make sure your splices are sound, & use the same (or slightly thicker gauge wire).
BTW: this sounds interesting, pics of this -mid progress and finished would be great --please.

grepzen: I'll do my best to get some good pics. If it works out how I want it to, then it should be a pretty cool little setup. Thanks for the advice on the wires.

One last consideration I just thought of:
those two sets == power and signal.. the power, I'm certain is DC.. you may get some noise on the signal wires if they're run in close proximity to data.
If you can run at least one of those sets through a shielded conduit that would help any alieviate possible noise problems.. maybe a 'dry fit' test outside the car (if possible) might prove or disprove the need for this step.

    Awesome, thanks!
I was thinking that maybe I would mod the wires to the length I need, and then hook it all up and see what happens. Hopefully it all works out.

Can someone tell me what those connectors/wires I posted in the first post are called. I want to look for some longer ones but I have no idea what they are called!

Unfortunately I don't know the name. But I was curious how long you want to run them? They seem awfuly thin to run from a trunk to up from in dash. It might work without problems but I would like to second the idea of extending them yourself with a bit thicker gauge wire.
