    Mobile Windows Emulator

    Hi there.

I have the latest version of TOM TOM Navigator running on my Pocket pc. But I would like to run it on my new car pc. Is there anyway to emulate windows mobile so I can install TOM TOM on it.

I have looked around on the net but all links take me to microsoft's site where i have to down load a whole production environment which I cannot get to work.

Does anyone know of any stand alone emultors just for running Windows Mobile not for developing software.

    Thanks

    Mike

    Hi,

I do not think there are any emulators for any of the PPC-versions that
lets you run anything you do not have the source-code to.
The reason for the emulator you can download from MS is to make it
possible for a developer to test their application without having access to all the available hardware-types.

There is a crude way of controlling/displaying your PPC-screen via activesync and a 3rd party software. This demands that you have your PPC-device connected to your computer in order to get this thing working.

You will then have a PPC-screen on your PC-screen that will give you access to the PPC. This is fairly easy to setup if you have a bluetooth GPS.

The above solution is not a good one but it should work.

Why don't you have a look at Mapmonkey using destinator SDK?

Dose mapmonkey and destinator SDK have a good interface like TOMTOM?

    Hi,

Yes I think they do, Mapmonkey comes with possibilities to use a OnScreen-keyboard so it is touchscreen-friendly too.

you would of course need to buy the maps from Destinator and also their SDK.
Check this forum under Software Development:Fronends:Mapmonkey and you will find loads of info!
