    .

    Cold boot 15 seconds
    standby 4 seconds

I dont use hibernation because it actually takes longer to load...

edit: I raced my car pc against my cell phone when I was bored and my car pc takes 2 seconds longer to boot.

Mine takes 25 seconds using a normal harddrive(although i do have a cf card) and windows xp embedded. Thats from the startup bios logo to roadrunner, gps screen. i got the whole thing under 850mb including most of the state maps in my area. Let me know if you want the windows xp embedded project file(that will work after 120 days)

I'm assuming those times are after POST. I'm using a shuttle PC as well and have everything in BIOS disabled that I dont need and it takes 10 seconds just for POST.

My CarPC will boot from time the ignition is turned on to playing music in about 25 seconds using hibernation. This is a on an AMD 2500+ mobile, 7200 RPM 8MB cache HD w/256MB ram.

something is wrong then, because my post doesnt even show up it's so fast.

edit: maybe the bios is diffrent on the AMD boards for shuttle.

about 10 seconds from post to come out of hibernation (256 megs of ram and a bloody fast 8mb cache drive). The board I'm using is an ECS L7VMM3 Pro3200A+ that has an onboard CPU, I think it's an Athlon 1.6 or something or at least, that's what Windows is reading it as... I tried coming out of suspend but the board doesn't support S3 STR so it keeps the fans running. If suspend did work, I'd be happy cuz it only takes like 2 seconds to come out of suspend mode.
