carputer planning : lot's of ideas ... need feedback

Thinking about getting the following hardware
- lili or Xenarc 7" (depending on budget ... prolly Xenarc)
- epia M2 12000
- 512Mb ram
- opus 150W
- wifi USB adapter (need to investigate brand)
- wifi antenna booster (need to investigate A LOT)
- HD WD 120Gb
- USB cardreader (CF,SD, Mem. Stick .. you get the idea)
- keyboard : anything cheap and cordless ... suggestions welcome

That's about it ... now for the ideas
1. storage
I'm thinking about getting a CF-card as boot device and using a removable NAS as main storage. This would give me the benefit that i can just take my HD along when visiting a friend to copy some stuff over.
The NAS would also hold the bulk of my programs (navigation, music player, anything not windows basically)
Anybody any experience with such a setup ?

2. Power
I would like to power everything of the opus to make sure i don't drain my battery and to make sure that i can still start my car when the computer hangs.

3. hiding screen (security)
any options ... i'm thinking about making a cover or making a rotating screen housing. Or the easy option: a din slot housing. Any optionions here. I've been looking out for the motorized housing vrom digitaww, but it seems it will not arrive shortly.

Yes. Search on terms "nLite" and "Embedded Windows" or look for posts by SFiorito

Search on terms: "motorized cover" or "housing" or similar terms. Also, Scouse Monkey has been working on something like this. Check his posts for discussion along these lines.

Welcome and take advantage of the great info on these boards. They cover an extremely broad range of topics relating to car-pc's.

1. basically CF is out. Just thought of something ... Cf is only meant to be written a couple of million times. Knowing windows i'll run out of times pretty soon.
Also regarding NAS, which nobody answered. I would need an acces point in my car, which i don't plan to have.
