Could anyone tell me what a good level of brightness is for lcd displays in vehicles. Have been looking at so many displays and have no idea what to look for. I am looking for a 10.4inch display. Any help would be great.
Most store brand LCD's are in the 250nits range. For comparison, the Lilliputs and Xenarcs most of us use including me are rating 400nits, and 280nits after the touchscreen module is installed.
Truthfully speaking, the 280nits is marginal, and on a very bright day, if my car didn't have tinted windows, then I'd have a really hard time reading the screen. So don't go less then that (280nits).
