    Multiple Monitors and Multiple inputs

Ok so being new I amplanning my project so I can get started next week.

I want to be able to run multiple monitors-3 of them plus I will have multiple inputs. Like the PC, a External DVD Player, and an xbox. Is it possible for all my screens to have the choice of which one to use?

What do I need to run the pc out put to all three monitors, same goes for the dvd player and the xbox. And do I need special monitors.

See the PC will have Movies, Music, and navigation. But say I am using the navigation and one kid wants to play Xbox and the other wants to watch a movie from the externam dvd player. What do I need to do to make this work.

Basically what you need is a video crosspoint switcher. Something with like 4 inputs and 4 outputs. That way input 1 can be routed to output 1, input 2 to output 3 and output 4. Or input 1 routed to all outputs.

If you're handy with circuitry, Analog Devices has a 16x16 crosspoint IC. You could use some of the pins for video inputs/outputs and the rest for stereo audio inputs/outputs.

But if you're looking for a ready to go solution, then something like might work for you.

Finally, A.I.M.E.E. is adding support for multiple monitors. Then you could just add a couple of video-to-USB adapters to feed the external DVD and XBox signals into the computer and let A.I.M.E.E. handle the monitor output choices.
