    The Newbie with another power question

    I have kind of asked this question and gotten a reply but I am still confused. My config has changed due to the wife allowing me a bigger budget so here's what I have and am getting and I need to know how to connect it all.

    1. Xenarc 700IDT
    2. Xenarc 800vr
    3. Pc not decided but will be a P4 machine. One of these http://www.cappuccinopc.com/solutions/19vpc.asp
    4. Sound Blaster Audgy
    5. RF 2 channel 400 wat 2 channel Amp for Subs
    6. RF 2 channel 200 watt amp for speakers
    7. 1 4 port USB hub
    8. Xbox
    9. 300 gig firewire drive.

    Now I know the pc is equiped with a power supply that can be set for delayed shut down and activation on the ignition, but what about everything else? If I turn the ignition off I still want power to the Hard Drive, USB Devices, etc.
    So the question is, do I need an inverter for the firewire drive and the Xbox, do they make something that will have a delayed start up when I turn the ignition on so the amps don't pop when the pc sarts?
    I know this is a lot but I want to put in my order so I can get started this weekend.

    I don't know much about Cappuccino PC's so this advice is worth what you paid for it...

    Generally, firewire and USB power is supplied by the computer. If you're using a USB hub, depending on the USB devices you have plugged in, it's possible you'll need a "powered" hub. But if you're plugging directly into the PC, it ought not to be a problem.

    As far as the Xbox, unless you plan on running it off of the computer's power supply, you'll have to solve the startup and shutdown problem somehow.

    You can purchase something called a Startup/Shutdown controller from mp3car.com to solve the amplifier "thump" problem. You can search on terms "amp thump" or the like to find other threads about this.
