Thats hard to say....it has been thru several "Phases"....
I would guestimate about $600 for my current setup without attatchments. But some of mine are inside the case, like the usb 802.11 and serial remote. Also, my case has a Laptop cd-rw/dvd drive and 250gb 3.5" hard drive. Others may not have these "in the box" so it is hard to compare costs.

well it's hard to give a hard number on that. i originally thought it would be a cheap hobby. i had the hard drive (laptop) so i needed the motherboard (M10000) and PS (opus 90) so i figured it'd be 150 for the MB and 120 for the opus. so about 270 (+ 290 for the monitor shipped)....

then i realized that i needed an amp cause i don't have a head unit that will accept inputs. started with a cheap 60 dollar pioneer amp. then needed power, ground wires. then figured the sound wasn't good enough. added a line driver and crossover and EQ, oh also patch cables. still didn't sound good enough. got a SB audigy NX 2 (USB). it was ok, then i heard that digital output may sound better. then i got a PG 5.1MT amp. then optical cable. that's where the sound portion stops... for now.

then you add in things like GPS receiver, usb hubs, radio and tv cards (or card), external DVD drives... i'm looking at well over 1500 dollars. and now i'm thinking of changing my lilliput to xenarc. oh well... it's just money... i'll make more.

Everything in the Case. MB, Memory, HDD, CDR-DVD, Serial control boards, PSU - ITPS, and the case. I do have a custom aluminium case built just to fit in my dash.

About $30 bux so far. The computer I got from work, it was one that was never picked up. And then I jsut scrounged for spare parts at work. It was one of those sff gateways. It's a 800PIII 512MB PC133 40GB HDD. I'm sure I'll have to spend more on it to finish it. But I did get the majority for pretty much nothing.
