This is the most fun I've had In a while!

Well everything came in yesterday and I had a blast putting it all together.

We had planned on doing the car install yesterday, but there have been a few changes in the plan, so hopefully it will be this weekend.

Right now everything is up and running on the work bench. I choose Windows Media Center as my front end. I run it in my house and it has a plugin to play ISO files, so I can store movies on the hard drive and not have to convert to mpg or wmv.

I'll post pics as I get going.

Thanks for all the help so far!

I wouldn't recommend MCE for a CarPC. This has been covered in the OS forum, but basically it's good for running in the house, but I think it's too much of a hog if you want a low-powered system in your car. I like it on my desktop though. I tried BeyondTV and hated it after about 10 minutes. The only thing I don't like about MCE is the runaround you need to do to burn a "real" DVD of your shows (it uses a special file format even though the video is MPEG2).

    my reason

The reason I like MCE is because of the DVD juke box. It will play ISO files, or VIDEO_TS folders.

If there is another interface out there that does this I am really interested.

By the way I am installing my GPS stuff right NOW!
