seems ok to me.
First off I've been lurking around this forum for a while trying to get the best information for my system. I will be installing this on my 2004 Rx-8 and i want to ask the people on this forum if this setup is worthwhile.
Specs:
BIOSTAR M7NCG 400 HERE
Antec Aria micro atx case
opus 150w dc powersupply
athlon xp2100 (only using it because its just lying around here)
dvd rom drive
160gb 3.5" hd
512mb pc2700 ram
wireless pci card
maybe usb bluetooth
If this is not a good setup or the powersupply would not be able to handle it let me know and if you could point me in the right direction on what to buy.
i think you are going to be running it close with that setup, i doubt the psu will handle it.
i had a micro atx board, 1.3 ghz amd, 512mb pc2100, and a 3.5" hd and the opus wouldn't power it.

have you tried the power calculator to see if your set-up will be at the psus limits?

Using the different calculators i am getting different results and not sure. Well what if i bought a athlon mp and undervolted it to about 1.3 and then underclock? Is this needed?
Edit: My real question is do i need to buy a Mp chip in order for the powersupply to handle my system?
are you getting different results within a few watts or are they off by a lot....I'd just average them honnestly and go off of that

That PSU WILL handle your system. I have the same motherboard, a faster CPU, an hd, DVD, more USB devices and mine handles it fine. Just make sure that when you order your PSU that you tell Opus that you have that motherboard.

Hey Nova....all I can say is please take tons of pictures of your install/fabrication/setup when you do it. I have a big interest in the RX-8, and belong to a club for RX8s (even though I don't have one). I've driven in one, and the are AMAZING. Check out www.rx8group.com
If you remember - PM me once you get your setup complete. I'm really interested in seeing what you can do with it!

Although i would love to create a center piece for the radio I dont have the tools or knowledge to take on tht project. I will be putting it by the glovebox and using a flexarm to hold it in place. I copied this idea from a member on the rx8club forum. Maybe when someone makes the mold commercially available will i get it, but it will have a home until then.
My question is i've been looking around and found that the biostar ideq barebone system seems like a good way to go. Should i stay with the Aria or go for the ideq?
HERE
Good luck, Please send pictures... find someone that can help with the fab work or practice alot![]()
