There's a daughterboard that has the additional ports for the other audio outs. I also believe the LINE IN is used for one of the outs, but don't quote me on that.Originally Posted by trance728

If I get the EPIA M10000 motherboard it has a built in sound card which looks like it only has one output but it says it can be 6.1 surround, if I want to hook this up to a four channel amp and a sub amp, do i need to get a new sound card, or is there something I can do to the board?

Well, I'm sure that it can't do 6.1, but 5.1, that's a different story. The three ports on the back are the 6 channels. The rear and the sub/center, replaces the line-in and the mic.
ok, so is that something that is configured in the bios, or how do i go about making them outputs and not inputs

This isn't even anything obscure. It's right there in black and white.
OK, Perhaps you bought the board OEM-style or used off EBay and it came with no manual. I can see that happening.
But you don't even think to locate the manual and see if the information is there? There's something very, very wrong with that.
no, ive just never bought a motherboard by itself so i didn't even think about a manual. and i had to look up what RTFM meant, so excuse me if i didnt catch that with the little guy waving the book
