    Sorry for being so stupid...

So I'm looking for a cheap way to incorporate a carputer in my car...and the part i'm having the hardest part getting a hold of for cheap is the lcd. Now could I use something like this, granted I'd sacrifice resolution, but could I use it?

    http://www.translinks.com/ht2000.htm

If not, I'm gonna drop the cash on a lilliput 8".

    Thanks for the help.

Youre right it will look like **** but if you have a video out on your PC it will work. I wouldnt suggest it though.

If i was trying to save money id cut cost on the PC and get a better screen. The pc can be upgraded in stages as you get more money. The screen only needs to be paid for once.

I personally dont see the sense in putting a cheap system in. It just limits what you can do too much. But i am glad to see you wanting to give this a try.

You could but it only runs a composite signal and has no touchscreen either. Also, you'd have to have a video card with TV Out.

you can use a PS1 lcd screen, the one made by sony,
buts its a pain to setup - the info is in the forums here

you can try a smaller desktop LCD

or something like the liliput - some peeps say
liliputs have lots of problems and fail a lot -

some times on ebay you can find old datalux LCDs
for like $50-$100 but there big and ugly and only
do one rez 640X480 at 60hz - there a pain,
and the older ones like mine only work with some
video cards - on top of that there real dim

or roll you own - thats a huge pain and cost $$$$

What ever you get, make shure its active TFT and
VGA or better like XGA - and search in google before
you buy it, search here also - A lot of ebay sellers
lie about the true rez and brightness

    Good luck
