Wiring or converting rca connector screen to vga? Possible??

I have a screen with the normal video out connector (rca type) is there anyway of converting to a vga connector?

Would the quality be better? Than if i ran this with an rca to s-video cable?

As i would want to use as a dvd, winamp and maybe gps screen?

    PLEASE HELP NOOB!!

Its a pioneer screen, but was from factory so dont now which model!

Is it possible to split the wire in a vga connection? OR would s-vide be better?

Will quality be shocking? Screen is £70, so $125

Use the S-VGA output. Change it to RCA and plug it into the monitor. VGA is not compatible with the RCA video (NTSC) signal.

Before you decide to use this as your main car computer interface, hook it up to a computer with an SVGA or RCA output and see if you like it. Expect it to be fuzzy and difficult to read the smaller text (anything under about 16 point).

Thanks, would it really be that fuzzy being only 6.5" wide?

Will it be alrite for winamp, dvd etc, just not gps?

You should be fine with dvd, you may have some problems with reading the file names in winamp. Same problem with reading street names with gps.

    Any way of improving it?

Would it be any better if it was just straight s-video and no rca to s-video?

I don't know how much clearer the text would be with just s-video, I wouldn't think it would be much of an improvement. If you really want to be able to read text I would suggest you buy a lcd with vga and sell your current lcd on ebay.
