Treo 650 - Dial Up Networking w/Bluetooth!!!
I swear I've'd my brains out until my brain has gone

I have not found an answer to this particular question. Is there a way to remotely power on a cell phone, such as when the car/carputer is turned on?
I'm using an ITPS, if that matters.
I am locked into a plan with sprintPCS and I was thinking about buying a second phone and attaching it to the case as a constant modem, then adding the second phone to my plan. Sort of like a built in modem.
The long and short of it is this. I like the flip phones. I'm a rough person and destroy watches, scratch unprotected cell screens etc etc. Sprint has a dismal offering of bluetooth phones (none flip) and while I could run a data cable to a front mounted cell holder, I've found that after many insertions/removals they (the connection of the cable to the phone) get flaky and tempermental. I think a second, permanently installed phone would be a possible solution.
SO, you *could* skip all that explanation above, the bottom line question: can a cell phone be turned on remotely (I'm looking at an Ericson T608 or LG 325)?
Thanks!

Just a follow-up! I listed two bluetooth phones out of habit above. My original idea was to buy a bluetooth phone for sprintPCS and just use that. Since they don't have a BT flip phone, that idea is scrapped.
So please disregard the last part about the two types of phones I'll be using, the T608 and PM 325. If I go with the second phone option, I can just connect via data cable and leave it connected/attached to the MOBO.
So I don't have a particular phone in mind, just need to know if anyone knows how to remotely turn on ANY cell phone.
Thanks
WOW thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I saw that! Only problem is, I already have a Palm Tungsten C. And the Palm was a gift. If I bought it for myself, I would sell it in a heartbeat and go with the 650![]()
But it was a gift and I won't sell it. So, honestly, it doesn't really make sense (for me) to buy a second PDA device.
That is a freakin sweet phone though. And if I didn't have the Tungsten C I'd be all over that!
Yeah. My company just got me the Treo couple days ago. I've been abusing the hell out of it. Now to get my CarPc up to dial into work and admin from car. That's my goal.

A great application no doubt. With all the things people are doing with carPCs, our vehicles are much more than just huge jukeboxes. Honestly, they can be total "offices on the go". I'm even thinking about installing a laptop printer in one of the compartments under my back seat.
Well anyway thanks for the suggestion.
