Will this wiring diagram work? Suggestions?

First of, I am not Dilbert so that’s why I need a little help.

Description of “diagram”:
The head unit powers up when I turn the ignition, the idea is to “piggyback” off this wire to a relay that will switch on the power to the lcd-screen and laptop.

Does this look about right?
Is there something missing in this diagram?

I will wire a manual switch to turn on and off(hibernate) the laptop.

Do you mean you will wire the on/off switch to the power button on the laptop? Otherwise, it won't start without you hitting the power button separately.

Yes, that is the plan!
Cracked open the laptop yesterday, and found the where to connect the wire. Will hopefully solder it today!

Want the button, so i may restart it without going to the trunk, or restart the car.
Maybe later i'll fix it to start with the engine!
