    My First CarPC, [PICS]

Here's my first Carputer, tell me what you think most of the computer parts were from Ebay.

Heres the computer itself, Its an Acer P3 933mhz. 256meg ram, 20gig HDD and a 24bit soundblaster soundcard. I powered it by using an old UPS I had lying around that had 12v input and 115v output.

This is my Sony Xplod 10 inch sub, it has quite a good kick for the price I paid.

Heres my Amps, the smaller one over the back is a little 2 channel kenwood amp, its used for the Sub only, the bigger "Dominator" sub is a 4 channel amp thats used for front and back speakers.

When I hibernate the PC and cut main power, the computer will automattically power back up when I give it power again, so I put a switch under my steering wheel, next to the fuse box.

This screen is a cheap 7inch in dash screen I got from Ebay (Direct from Hong Kong lol) it only has AV input so the display is a little hazy, but its livable with.

I intend to mount a touchpad to my console as the main controll, but it hasnt arrived yet, so i'm using a USB mouse which keeps falling off :P. don't mind the mess on the passenger floor

6x9inch clarion speakers, I have some 4inch of the same style in the front doors, they pump out a fair bit of volume.

I don't understand what your asking!!! Are you asking for advice on FreeBSD or advice on where to install your laptop?

I would think it is not possible to add a touch kit to this screen as it is a propriety product. You may be able to get an overlay from digitalww but they are in the states. The avh-P6400 is a motorised screen so you may need to make something to allow the touchscreen to fit inside the housing properly.

With regards to what you need to get your car computer, who knows!!!!
Only you know what you want to achieve from this adventure.

    1. Is the power supply you have a DC-DC or AC-DC?
    2. Do you want GPS?
    3. and look at other peoples work to get ideas.
