how to hook up a computer to a sony tft screen?

Can it be done and how? I have a xav-7w sony head unit and want to hook up a computer...would this be possible or do i have to get a touchscreen?

Also...is there a way to hardwire a playstation to a car rather than using an inverter?

    THANKS!

    YES! there is

    a) it can be done, but from what i can tell it's not a touchscreen, and anything with VGA will give you a better resolution.

    b) it can be done as well. The PS2 has an internal power supply which takes 120 volts AC and turns it to about 12 volts DC. so it jut means you'll have to crack open your PS2 and change some stuff. (sounds like fun for a newbie) The gamecube, i just thought i'd point out, has an EXTERNAL power supply, so no hacking is nessecary to put it in a car
I'mmmmmm a n00b.... feel free to make fun

well if its a normal playstation ... remove everything that isn't a power supply from the playstation ... then plug it in! use a multimeter to find out what voltages you need to supply to it, then supply those voltages and you are done.

if it is a psOne then find out whatever the external psu outputs and then supply that.

or make your life easier and just get an inverter. If it needs anything other than a standard 12v just use an inverter ... but i guess what fun is that.

blah (this reply is brought to you by an attempt to NOT study for finals tommorow)
don't worry i know i usually don't make much sense

I agree. an inverter is a good way to go here. Open the PS up and see if there's an onbius power bus somewhere. if not, your probably out of luck.

well I have a PS that I wanted to hook up directly to the car and the Im also hooking up a dvd player and cd player using the aux outs to go into the inputs on my sony xav-7w. What do you all think? I just want to have a Playstation (already there with an inverter) and a dvd and cd player(not changer). My next project is to build a custom shelf for the playstation where my glovebox is. Oh yeah, i have a 1997 chevy camaro. Thoughts?

You need regulated source of power, the car power fluctuates a lot and not clean - this is the short answer. Go with what 00christian00 said, nice and clean.
