go with centrafuse. just an opinion :D
i tried centrafuse, loved it, very easy to use and install, however it takes ages to load compared to road runner and with me it kept on hanging. i am waiting for the release of 2.0.
Road runner is a good front end but needs alot of skills, which i lack
centrafuse 2 is out already, but with a few bugs. the next release is next week, you should try it then.
reason i haven't used road runner is i couldn't find a skin that looks nice and clean, something that gives an oem look. but i do agree with you that rr is a very good front end.
Zaid,
Had a quick look and nice work on the car - looks awesome. puts me to shame for the part time 'messing' around i have done to my car with a few amps and speakers!
anyway, i'm selling a pair of vr500's in a decent box similar size to yours and wondered what second hand price for good condition you might guess at (if you don't mind). Was a while ago when i bought them and can't really remember how much they were or see how much they are now. (are they discontinued model?)
Mine are 10"s - are yours 12"s?
also if you have put them in your set up you must rate them pretty highly? I just have switched to a single alpine 12 at the moment (in a vw golf) - right move / wrong move???
any help would be greatly appreciated.
cheers
ed
The vr500's have been discontinued a while ago, i have used them in my car because i've had them for the past 5 years. they are still as good as they were 5 years ago. However compared to the subs sold those days, the bass level is two low. And for the same price i paid for them 5 years ago i can buy two Alpine 12" R types 500 RMS each (vr500 were rated at 150rms each for).Quote:

If you have an 12" R type then its more than enough for a golf.
Zaid.
Thanks very much for your response. Very helpful cheers - basically not much then - whatever anyone wants to pay. Can I just confirm that is in US $.
Also it is a Type "S" Alpine 12". (I presume the type R is better - again second hand off a mate) - different RMS I presume?. It sounds good though.....
Cheers again for your help.

Love the install, but I'm most interested in finding a headunit solution similar to yours, where the hu faceplate is slim and can be installed in a smaller space than a typical headunit. I know the Alpine unit that you got is pretty expensive, perhaps you know of other models/units that have a similar setup (control faceplate with wire connected to main unit located elsewhere)?
Also, can you please post some pics of where you have the control unit mounted in the e46? Where did you put it?
Thanks.. I don't have an Alpine unit, i have the alpine digital sound processor. This device can take more then one sound in put and is an EQ as well. The control face plate connects to hide away unit that istalled in the trunk.Quote:
