    Newbie question about ign/acc wire?

I'm looking into getting a carputer and using an opus power supply. I like so many other newbies before me have read these posts and searched before asking any questions. So here is my question.
To turn on my psu (probably an opus) can I simply tap into the acc line that goes to my HU and not have any problems with lack of voltage or any other problems I can't think of?
Other facts that might prove relevent
I'd like to keep my current head unit and hook up my carputer into it using an adapter so I don't want to simply use the carputer to replace my HU.
I have an amp already hooked up with 4 gauge wire so I'm going to simply throw in a distrabution block for the +12v line.
If I'm unclear let me know I'd be glad to elaborate and all though I'm a college student, I'm a math and criminal justice major and not an electrical engineer so take it easy on technical lingo. Thanks!

You got it. The Opus is a power regulator, designed to keep a steady current that can survive crank. It will also send a startup/shutdown signal to the comps motherboard. You can read more about it here, in fact there is a link to the product manual.
    Welcome, and good luck!

I have about the same setup apart from that i'm using a Carnetix P1260 in combination with a PW-70A. Also took the acc line from behind the HU. No problems whatsoever. So this should also be fine with an opus.
There ain't no need to cry. Time's up. It's time to die....
