PLAN: 05 Acura RSX Type-s carputer

Well I just picked up a brand new RSX-S a couple of weeks ago and have been planning on installing a carputer for some time now. I am in dire need of some recomendations on a) motherboard b) power supply c) ram d) drives e) sound card. I will be replacing the entire BOSE system in my car and will run the audio through the carputer. The case for my carputer will also have to be very small, as it will have to fit underneath the passenger seat. I also will want a nice sound card to achieve the highest sound quality possible, but I'm not sure what sound cards will fit in a small mini-itx style case. I will also want my carputer to be able to run some pc games like counter-strike, diablo 2, and world of warcraft. I won't need the power to run games like Half Life 2 or the new Doom game that require the best graphics cards available. I was thinking about the EPIA motherboard/processors but I'm not sure exactly how to compare them to for example my current 3.4 ghz p4 desktop pc. How much slower would the EPIA's be? Also need a recommendation for a power supply that will fit in a mini itx case and will put the computer into and out of standby mode when the ignition is turned on and off. Thanks! So bascially, you want someone else to build your carputer for you? lol.

I dont think an EPIA 1ghz processor with onboard video will run any of those games.

oh btw. u won't be able to fit the case under the pass seat. yer only chance is either glovebox or behind the screen.

and u'll need a 3d card if u wanna play games...which i don't see how you're going to do. u don't really have a tabletop to put a mouse.

HEY THERE.....I'm an acura TL user here (2003)...you're lucky with the RSX cause they're discontinuing it next year...

In the order that you asked....IMO, an upgraded sound card is only as good as your connections to your head unit/amp. Decent motherboards nowadays come with 5.1 onboard anyway is thats the route you want to take...

Take a look at the barebones systems (case, mobo, fans, PSU all included), I got one myself, and some come with custom motherboards that are manufactured specifically for barebones applications. This could mean more efficient use of the space inside and allow you to pack more in a smaller case. You can leave the included PSU in place and mount your CAR psu remotely (next to the case under your seat...etc) as long as there is an AGP slot available, you can install an upgraded gfx card.

Take measurements under your seats to find the exact amount of clearence you have available....and a 1.0 ghz processor is no match for a P4 3.x in terms of anything...
