Thanks for the "BIG HINT". I hadn't come across anything on Carnetix in the past few weeks.

BTW - No harm, no foul. I know some of my questions are very elementary at this point, but I'll eventually be able to contribute to the forums as I get farther into this project.

What is the spec on the xenarc Pc you are getting?

The dc-dc you ordered from Xenarc is probably like a laptop dc-dc so it will have no SDC stuff or as good low input performance (ie for cranking). If it is a laptop dc-dc then the 140W carnetix should be fine.

Xenarc TSV-700 touchscreen

I opted for this setup due to the PCMCIA slot. I wanted to be able to use my Verizon wireless card for Internet access w/o being near a hot spot. I can't find any information about the Xenarc 12VDC to 19VDC power supply on their site.

This is what I'm planning. If anyone sees potential problems, or has any suggestions, or comments,.......

did you see the thread on the 5V addon for the carnetix? it will provide a third output at 5V (so you can set the secondary to 12V) and then you can power a USB hub/GPS etc etc.

yeah good point. that should avoid the amp thud.
