    NooBie HeRe!!! CaRputeRs NeeD Help

Okay I have been reading these forums for about a week now
and really want to get a carputer. So I would like to know the cheapest
and easiest way i could do this and all the equipment i would need
to start my project. Plus I am about to get the Jensen VM9410 AM/FM
CD/DVD/MP3/WMA reciever with 7" monitor, is there any way i could
hook a carputer up to this monitor. Plus i would like to here everyone
elses carputer setups and what they have done. Oh and pics would
    be helpful

    1) This headunit doesn't have Aux inputs, so if you want to play MP3s fromt eh computer through this headunit, you're going to go with an FM modulator or a tape adapter which will hurt sound quality.
The audio could go through the same time as the video, which would make sense, but most of these headunits also turn off the audio when the screen is closed (which you'll likely want to do while driving for legal reasons). It's a workable, if kluugey solution.

    2) The composite video input (that yellow RCA jack) can be used for video input, but expect the image quality to be marginal at best. Also remember that you need to have a video card that includes TV out or a VGA-composite scan adapter.

    3) There's a Show Off Your Project forum here that has pictures and details of other peoples' installations. Look there.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Whatever you do, its not going to be easy... Ive got many years experience in 'normal' PC builds and I thought it would be easy - and its taken far far longer than I thought to get just the basic instal made up and wired in for testing.

    Its all good fun tho
