Okay.... sup people, I just bought my lincoln LS a few days ago... im looking to put a carputer in it, mp3, dvd playback, games and so forth, I actually have a major question for you guys.. How do you guy go about doing GPS and internet... Like how do you do it, is it a certain company you run through or something or what.. I want to be able to have the internet at all times along with GPS and so forth... Is it possible?
Oh I forgot to add, this is my first time on the forums and I did do searching, I found solutions for people with Verizon/T-mobile ... but im a Nextel user.. so is there any alternate route? or should I buy a prepair phone and use that for internet? If so which one and what would be my cheapest solution...

Most phones have a data cable that allows you to use the cellphone as a modem. You can use dialup that way, but don't expect blazing speeds.
For simple browsing or sending emails, it would be fine.
WiFi is another option, but you'd only get access when in the vicinity of and connected to a WiFi network, such as at a Starbucks.
The other option are the EDGE cards that you can get to connect to a GPRS network, which will give you faster 'net access on demand. I don't believe Nextel has such a product. I know Cingular, TMobile and SprintPCS all do. Sprint was bought by Nextel, so maybe that will benefit you in the not-so-distant future...
And GPS is handled with a unit seperate from the phone. You need a GPS receiver and software. There's an excellent sticky all about it in the GPS forum.
