    Front end opinons please....

Before you hate on the newb, i did seach! "best" is to common of a word and front end brings up a lot of topics... none of which realy hit what i wanted.

In you opinions, what is the all around "best front end" ? whats the best to use with a touchscreen, and is the most user frendly as far as program integration like GPS and the like?

Before the flame go on. I gota stop you on this topic.
Basically one thing best for you, could be the worst thing to others. Everybody has his/her own taste.
By that I mean, just down load all of them and use them to see which one you like most and call it your best.
All the front end available are the best cuz these guys put in count less number of hours to make it work the way it suppose to be. Also don't forget, the skinners who make the front end most appealing to the users.

pretty much to add (or repeat really) to what MatrixPC said.

damn near every product out there would best be "reviewed" by the consumer who actually wishes to purchase it. In other words, try before you buy is the best way to determine if you want something, instead of relying on other people's reviews.

Of course sometimes this fails (technical specifications that some don't understand, long term reliability, etc), but for the most part, this is accurate. The problem is that "try before you buy" is hard to come by.. unless it's free.

So try it all damnit. Some love frodoplayer, some love roadrunner, some love centrafuse, etc....

I'm sure you got links to Best Buy as well. I'm going to put together a note on how to seach. It's obviously needed, apparently.
REally, did you think to include some other keyword besides BEST?

That's like asking us who the best football team is.
Some will say The Cowboys. Some will say the Redskins. Some will say Auburn or USC. Some will even say Manchester United.

You need to evaluate them all yourself and determine which one works best for YOU. We all have reasons why we prefer one front end or another. You need to form those reasons for yourself based on whatever subjective criteria you choose.
Even if it's choosing Centrafuse over Frodoplayer because you think the idea of a smoking monkey is the most horrific image on the planet... That would be your reasoning for choosing one over the other. Run with it.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

What we need is a "review" of the different front ends to help people see what each has to offer and compare side by side. I am a frodo user myself, but not because other front ends are bad. In my case frodo used the least amount of processing power, which means everything to my slow and weak carputer. I tried the others and they just did not work for me because there was too much delay between the time I pushed the button until it actually did something. Frodo is fast so it gets my vote.

Well you are wrong again! Nobody could give you that answer, because different people have different computers with different power meaning that CF (random) can work very good for me BUT work very ****ty on someone with less computer power. Simple logic!

I went to the Software->Front Ends forum section, downloaded several of the front ends there, and tried them out on my desktop PC. Give it about an hour and you'll find which ones work well for you and which ones don't. (If I couldn't figure out an important feature by just poking around the interface with a basic-looking skin, I crossed that frontend off my list...)
