Hey guys, as you may know, searching on this site is VERY important and I feel as though I've done my fair share of researching (of course we can all do some more) but I was wondering how the wiring works an Opus power supply to your car battery.
I understand how the Opus is connected to the computer however a newb as far as the car battery goes.
I was told I should just get a 10 gauge amp kit off of ebay and use the inline fuse that'll come with it. (I understand the conversion of 150/12 + some room as far as the fuse goes).
My question is how is the amp kit connected to the opus power supply? Does anyone actually have an image of that?
Looking at this diagram I see 3 different outputs from the Opus (Battery, Ground, Ignition):

And I can see the 3 lead connection here on the top left:

Anyone can point me in the right direction as far as what wires and connections go to the Opus. Thanks!

Thanks tj!2k4 - I actually knew that information. However I was confused where the amp kit fit in. I mean what wires do I need from it and how do those connect to the opus?
Say if I were to get a kit like this?

That would suffice right? You have any pictures of the wires from an amp kit hooked up to your Opus?
I'd take that red power cable whihc is 20 feet from the car battery to the Opus.
Is it that blue 17' turn on cable that would be used as the yellow wire for ignition?
And the 3 foot black battery cable would be my ground to the car chassis?
Thanks for a quick response!
you mean audio amp?

No, not an audio amp. I was just told to get an amp kit to wire the Opus to the car battery. Thats where I'm really confused because I read 10 gauge is okay.
Sound I'm okay. I use an AUX output from my headunit which just has an RCA cable going into my carputer so I'm okay there.
extend the red wire to your battery and fuse it. use at least the same gauge wire. ground the black wire to your chassis. splice the yellow wire into whatever line only turns on when the key is turned (depending on the car, it could be the cigarette lighter or something like that - you'll have to figure that out on your own.)
I just got a bunch of wire and fuses stuff from Radio Shack. If that's a good price for the wiring, I guess you could roll with it and have some left-overs..

Thanks tj!2k4 - you've been very helpful!
My question is how are the connections made onto the Opus? You just said "extend the red wire to your battery and fuse it" - I actually had that in mind however what is the correct way for that cable to fit onto the the power supply?
I personally use quick disconnects, although you could solder or use some other type of connector as well. http://www.radioshack.com/images/Pro...64/64-3132.jpg
yes, quick disconnects are in my arsenal as well.

OK finally that was the answer I was inquiring about. So quick disconnects are what I want. Do they just connect straight onto the power/ground/ignition wire and how are they connected onto the Opus? They just dont snap on do they? Do I have to crimp the cables before putting on the disconnects?
Sorry for the newb questions but I am pretty sure some others will find these answers helpful considering I couldnt really find even this basic information on the forums!
