hello to all on the forum
this is my first night and after hours of searching and coming up with nothing i was wondering if anybody on this forum has seen pics or actually done a pc install in a Montero Sport. Im getting ready to start buying the gear for my first install and wanted any tips from anyone that has done it on one of them.
Thanks in advanced

its not rocket science...

see im searching for a montero SPORTnot a normal montero..their dashboards are totally different. i did truly hit the search button and came up with this...
Connecting the sound card to the speakers WITHOUT a headunit or amplifier
there i cant find pics of what im looking for... perhaps this user is still around and might have some current pics of his install if he hasnt sold the truck. and i can contact him directly.
Curious question.
You're not the first person to ask if anyone has done a PC install in a specific make/model of vehicle.
Really, what does it matter? Are you going to abandon your project ideas if you're not the first person to put a PC into a Mitsu Montero Sport? What tips are you going to get from someone?
Realistically, all the 'tips' you read from anyone who's done an install aren't vehicle specific. They have to do with running cables or configuring the OS or cooling the PC and so on.
Installing a PC in any vehicle is just about the same, be it a tiny little Citroen 2CV (assuming they actualy have a 12v system!) or a behemoth International truck (that's about the size of a semi cab). The only differences come from either the placement of the PC or power considerations:
Can your optical drive be IDE or do you need USB because it's too far away?
Do you need a shielded VGA cable to shield the VGA signal to prevent speaker noise?
Can your DC-DC power supply push this specific CPU?
And so on...
well it does matter to some of us that like to see what someone else has done with a similar car. yeah a dashboard is a dashboard and a monitor is a monitor and installing it is virtually the same. but the fact that all vehicles werent created equally poses different challenges.
all this question does is put two people that share the same vehicle in touch with each other and share install experiences in things that might be useful to know which provide you with an alternative to your original plan.
if seeing this type of question being asked is too much for you to handle then you shouldnt waste your time reading and responding to these posts. after all isnt this the reason why these forums are started? to share experiences, ideas, techniques, and provide people with your same interest a different way of doing things?
