Search google for microphones designed for voice recognition software. Here's one example: http://www.andreaelectronics.com/Buy...beam_Array.htm
Hello there,Having searched and looked in the FAQ sction I am looking for some guidance. What is the consensus on microphone for in car communication - what are the brands to look for/avoid?
Also, how far away from me could I conceivably have this installed?

I use a logitech sound cancelling microphone, which, apparently is also the same as the much cheaper labtec mike. It also isn't exactly noise cancelling in the electronic sense. Still, it's worked well for me. Go to the NaviVoice, now PowerVoice, should have been Voice Monkey, forum and check for a number of discussions about microphones.
Here is a thread discussing the logitech and labtec and includes a link to an mp3 audio of the logitech in use in installed in my car.

There are many ones like the logitech. They all come from the same plant, but with different labels.Originally Posted by Bugbyte
