Reminds me of when the police stopped me because I had neons on my scooter. Some people thought it was on fire(not joking) the light was orange, and the scooter made a freaking lots of noise(you could hear it 1km away).
I install cold cathodes in many kiddos cars because they think its cool, and I cant argue with them, when done clean, it looks descent. But I always have a quick-kill switch so they can turn all off, at once so local law enforcement dont see em.
Basically neons are illegal, anyway you slice it, and white lights suck, unless your interior is completly black. Or you could get some tinted glass and mount the white light inside the tinted box to give off the color you wanted while not breaking the law... I guess?

That is why the first sentence of the first paragraph limits using any light, other then white (even though not flashing), and ANY LIGHTS THAT FLASH
I won't even talk about your second statement cause that is just plain silly.

My work log
I want to have neon lights on the bottom of the car, except that i want them to turn on only when the corresponding door is opened. I always though that'd look pretty cool. I've always thought bad of people that put neon lights on a cheap car, kinda like those hub-cap spinners it looks pretty cool on a cool customized car but i wouldn't have it on all the time on my car. I'd also like to put a light that's easy on your eyes where you put your feet (forgot the term), i was thinking like maybe a blacklight or a really dark shade of blue.
edit: in case you live in texas, any white or yellow light behind the headlights is legal, but i talked to the DPS (Department of Public Safety) and they said that as long as the neon lights underneath the car aren't obvious emergency vehicle colors, it really wasn't enforced. I doubt a federal agent is going to come after you for having lighting on your car![]()

Wanna hear the funny part?
Neon lights are banned by federal highway law. They were banned to stop beer trucks from having neon signs!
Most states ban blue, green and red visible from the front. Yellow is only allowed on the rear for turn signals.
If you really want to do some things with in-direct light take a look at L.E.D. pods. You can get those in various colors and they are legal. Purple is legal anywhere on a vehicle.
sweet. i can pretend im a pimp - with my purple minivan. :-P
talking about pimp minivans.... i saw an old 1980's minivan with faded blue paint that had hub-cap spinners lol the ghettoest thing i have ever freakin' seen.Originally Posted by KyleYankan
